Sailors Don't Cry plot

Hilde (Hilde Van Mieghem) works in a cafe in a small harbor town. She earns just enough to live on with her eight-year-old son Stijn (Din Meysmans). Sailor Paul (Johan Leysen) is Stijn's father, but abandoned him and his mother shortly after Stijn was born. Meanwhile, Hilde has a new relationship with Guy (Josse De Pauw). Then Paul unexpectedly returns.
