Pünktchen und Anton plot

The feisty nine-year-old Pünktchen (Sabine Eggerth) doesn't get the attention of her indifferent, wealthy parents that she must have. She is friends with the gentle but poor Anton (Peter Feldt) three years her senior. Anton has a sickly widowed mother. Money is needed to pay for treatment for Anton's mother (Heidemarie Hatheyer) at a convalescent home, and Pünktchen secretly goes out after dark to sell matchsticks. That comes true and her parents are dismayed.
