Das Menschlein Matthias plot
Ten-year-old Matthias (Röbi Rapp), the illegitimate child of Brigitte Böhni (Petra Marin), grows up under the strict, often sadistic supervision of his aunt. Brigitte works as a seamstress in Rorschach and has neither the means nor the time to care for him. When she decides she wants to take her son back, her aunt stands in her way and forbids Brigitte to take Matthias. One stormy night, Matthias flees to his mother at the Rorschach factory. Lead artist and former womanizer André Oberholzer (Leopold Biberti) remembers a long-gone love night with Brigitte and turns out to be the father. Matthias begins to secretly meet his father, but in public he does not want to acknowledge that Matthias is his son.
