Neprijatelj plot

The film is set one week after the end of the Balkan War. A group of seven soldiers walks through the rural area of Bosnia, defusing the landmines laid down during the war. Then, in an abandoned factory, they discover a man bricked into a wall. They free the man but in doing so release some kind of supernatural power. Soon things go wrong. Their radio stops working and when they wake up they are surrounded by land mines. And that's just the beginning.

Otherwise.

The poster promises some kind of intense, bloody and spectacular action/horror film. But if you want to watch this project and go into the film with these expectations, I'm sorry to disappoint you. This is a psychological thriller with some war and drama moments and occasionally a touch of horror.

I don't see many films from the Balkan environment. This was without a doubt the first purely Balkan film I have seen. The difference is that everything here is much grayer and rougher than the general American film example. Everything is depressed and dreary. Sometimes it looks a bit cheap, but it is good.

The acting is also solid. However, the tensions are never fully palpable, everything comes across as a bit too artificial and some types go crazy a bit too quickly. The psychological game is certainly there, but unfortunately never gets off the ground fully effectively.

It contains some nasty images, some of which still manage to be effective. The bodies that are stacked on top of each other, for example. And some scenes look visually very charming. The film manages to be quite interesting for those 108 minutes and fortunately enough happens to keep it all a bit interesting.

However, a little more attention could be paid to the psychological game of the soldiers and the film remains somewhat tame. Gunfights in between are sometimes a bit out of place and the editing remains a bit stiff throughout the film. Sometimes there is too little pace in the editing, which means that the film sometimes tends towards amateurish.

Great movie in the end. Could be a little more daring and certain points could receive more attention, but overall not bad at all.
