Dark Summer plot

Affluent white Jess falls in love with poor black Abe. Her prejudiced father Alan doesn't want her to start anything with him anyway, especially not because Abe works for him. But Jess resists her father's wrath and moves in with Abe. He is fired, but they are nevertheless overjoyed because Jess turns out to be pregnant with him. They are in seventh heaven, but then disaster strikes mercilessly...
