Disconnect plot

"Look up"

Disconnect deals with our modern life and how it is guided by technological progress. Through three storylines interwoven with each, we see how the main characters seek human contact in a world where contact only seems to take place through technology and life always seems to take place in places other than yourself.

Good internet drama.

I'll just rate each story.

Nina Dunham: The weakest in the movie. There is hardly a real "Plot" in it, this was also the only movie that I couldn't explain to others. Just think it's a thin story. 2.0*

Jason & Frye: The best in the movie, and in my opinion the most realistic as well. Good acting, a bit of a superfluous but good ending and a few heavy scenes. Yes, I definitely thought this was a nice one. 3.5*

Derek & Cindy: An okay movie. Not very special, not bad, not very good. An entertaining and reasonable movie. It's always annoying when things like this happen to you. 3.0*

Rounded to 3.0*.

“Everything you do, someone out there can see.”

Strong movie. Disconnect shows the dangers of the internet and social media in a tragic and interesting way. All the storylines are depressing and sad, and you have to be able to handle a bit of drama. It's not always really believable, but I totally went along with it. And luckily, all the actors are very strong, and all the storylines eventually come together in a strong and believable way. Nicely done by director Henry Alex Rubin
