The Big Year plot
"Everyone is searching for something."
The story follows three men obsessed with birdwatching. They embark on a veritable quest to outdo each other by finding as many different species of birds in North America as possible. Entertaining film (which is usually not really a compliment) that doesn't want to be funny anywhere. The cast is fine and the story, with different locations, is quite original. The script is otherwise only mediocre, with half-developed storylines about relational struggles that do not interest. It's not all that, which is a shame about the excellent cast.

Sympathetic film that is nice to look at and also deals with an unusual subject. Not really a comedy, although it does become quite fun every now and then.
The Big Year made more of an impression with the often beautiful locations and the acting performances of Jack Black and Steve Martin were also quite impressive. I am a little less enthusiastic about Owen Wilson, but that actually applies to most of his films. character.

I don't understand why this has a 2.75 at the moment.
I thought it was a really nice, fun movie. And those are hard to find.
Comedies are often exaggerated or bland, or you have a so-called feel-good comedy with a huge dramatic moment that ruins your good mood. That is not the case here.
This is a real feel good, fun movie!
