The film focuses on the creation of Bruce Springsteen's album 'Darkness on the Edge of Town' in 1978. In the film we see rehearsals at Springsteen's home as well as recordings in the music studio. Also included are new interviews with Bruce Springsteen himself, the members of the E-Street Band, Springsteen's manager Jon Landau, Spingsteen's longtime manager Mike Appel and others involved in the making of Springsteen's fourth studio album.
