The Tiger Factory plot
Ping Ping is 19 and wants to go to Japan to work in an auto parts factory. She is under the guardianship of her aunt, Madame Tien, who slides her back and forth between jobs. Sometimes she works on a pig farm and sometimes she washes the dishes in a run-down restaurant. Tien is involved in a "baby factory" scandal, where young women and immigrants are mated, whose babies are then later resold. Ping Ping and Tien have a kind of love-hate relationship, until Ping Ping learns about her aunt...
