Like every year, the reliable cowherd Krischam, who is revered by the village youth, returns to Kummerow right on time for Easter and is warmly received by the children. This is for a traditional event where the referee Krischan should not be missing, namely the 'Heide-baptism'. Every year the children of Kummerow stay in the icy waters of the river Mühlbach until the last remaining person becomes the 'king'. Priest Breithaupt, the pastor of the community, is very fond of traditions, but he should know nothing about these pagan customs. And the fact that the newly crowned heath king is his daughter Ulrike does not help her to become a worthy candidate bride, according to him...
