Catherine is a successful gallery owner living with her architect husband Chris and their daughter Nelly in the suburbs of Hamburg. They have a good relationship and life seems to be perfect. One day, on her way to work, she meets Alexander and they plunge headlong into a passionate affair. When she later confronts her husband with this event, he initially reacts resignedly, but later withdraws deeply hurt. Catherine is now between two lives and two loves, but will have to make a choice.
