Pastor Hall plot

Based on the true story of Pastor Martin Neimöller (named Pastor Hall in the film), who was sent to Dachau concentration camp and tortured for criticizing the Nazi Party. It starts in the small German village of Altdorf in the 1930s. The village agrees with Chancellor Hitler's ideas and they accept a platoon from the Stoottroepen. From then on, these Stoottroepen will be in charge of the education and maintenance of 'The New Order' in the village, but Father Hall is a kind and gentle man, who does not want to be intimidated.

This film shows once again that the term: based on a true story, does not have much value.

this film leaves out a lot of facts, firstly Niemuller was initially a supporter of hitler,

Only later did he repent, secondly, he was first sent to Sachsenhausen before ending up in the Dachau, and thirdly, he was held in the cell complex called the bunker where a number of political prisoners were held in isolation (including Elser).

There was never a report of a successful escape attempt, he stayed there until the end and survived.

The film itself is nice, but it does not show at all (with the exception of a few details) what life in the camp was really like (the grimness of the camp is fairly depicted).

It also indicates that the Allies were indeed aware of the atrocities that were committed at an early stage.

Actually, more of an English propaganda film that wants to score points on the back of someone who was imprisoned there for 5 years afterwards.
