David Wants to Fly plot
David Sieveking gets the chance to attend a seminar in the United States, where the famous David Lynch talks about his fascination with transcendental meditation and levitation. The phenomenon of "yogic flying" is a component in a religious movement led by the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, who also inspired the Beatles. Lynch convinces David to meditate and David visits followers in India, Switzerland and the Netherlands. He also joins a pilgrimage to the source of the Ganges, high in the Himalayas. In a continuous tone of wonder, David discovers Maharishi's followers vying for power after his death and learns how much money flows into the organization. The Indian village supposedly home to 10,000 followers meditating for world peace turns out to be inhabited by just eight Hindus.
