Pride and Prejudice plot

Pride and Prejudice is about five unmarried middle-class sisters in 19th century England. Elizabeth Bennet, the second oldest sister, is by far the most intelligent. Her mother tries to marry all her five daughters to wealthy men, as her father's property can only be inherited by a male heir. Meanwhile, the very wealthy Mr. Bingley and his friend Mr. Darcy take up residence in Netherfield Hall, a large mansion not far from where the Bennets live. When she meets the charming Wickham and the proud, haughty Darcy, her feelings towards them are quickly determined. However, her own experiences and those of her friend Charlotte Lucas and her sister Jane force her to reconsider her opinion on many things.
