hmm.

I must be the wrong target audience for this, but when the film was recommended again by friends I had had enough and decided to give LOL a chance. In retrospect I think I'm still the wrong target audience for this, but watching and voting for it never hurts.

The time before Cyrus made a personality transformation. I'm not much of a fan from almost every side, I'm just not a fan of Cyrus itself either. Also in LOL she doesn't convince me, despite some nice attempts. In general, she tries too hard to be a character and the humane strays from it.

The film itself is quite messy, but I didn't find it all that recognizable. The romance is very short sighted, standard elaborated and problems come and go. All sorts of things are done to make Cyrus's life seem heavy, but it doesn't really convince.

Directing is also a bit monotonous. Mediocre editing, mediocre images and mediocre camera work. There is nothing that stands out for the movie buff. If the story also doesn't offer that much, you know that you didn't manage it very well as a film itself. I also find it strange that this is so recognizable by some people, because in terms of effect I found the loop anything but recognizable.

Outside of Cyrus, the acting is also quite mediocre. Only Moore (surprisingly) I thought was good. The teenagers are too nervous and the adults too automatic. I don't really like the humor either, a bit arrogant kind of humor. Furthermore, a lot of boo, kisses and love, but it is nowhere convincing.

The playing time is not unnecessarily long and the tempo is reasonable. Because the film is told in a kind of diary form, it still wants to be interesting to at least reach the credits. Furthermore, it is all just a standard high school love affair that does not want to touch or convince, but also has nothing to offer in terms of direction.

Pop star and actress Cyrus clearly has enough talent to carry a film, but unfortunately she is stuck with a formulaic romantic drama with a touch of forced humor. She plays Lol (full name: Lola) and the story revolves around her love affairs surrounding her boyfriend Chad [George Finn] and her best friend Kyle [Douglas Booth], as well as her mother [Demi Moore]'s attempts to revive her love life. to give. Lola's best friends Emily [Ashley Hinshaw] and Janice [Lina Esco] are also featured, but Azuelos isn't sure how to handle the different storylines. The result is episodic and superficial. Best moment? The split of Step Up actor Adam Sevani.
