A US research vessel is in the Antarctic Ocean 150 kilometers off the coast of Australia for an investigation into the ozone layer. Suddenly the ship is hit by a wave of icy air that freezes everything and everyone in no time. Jack Tate, a brilliant physicist, loses contact with the ship from land. When Jack learns of the bizarre deaths of his colleagues, he sets out to investigate. By putting the different puzzle pieces together, he can only conclude one thing: A new ice age is coming! But when Jack submits his discovery to science, he is blamed for his bad past and they refuse to listen to his solution to save the planet.
