The Locked Door plot

"A drama of sacrifice and supreme love"

Frank Deveraux, a wealthy playboy, lures secretary Ann Carter under false pretenses to a "rum boat" (ship that sails to international waters to escape prohibition). A police raid disrupts his evil intentions, but paying the bail immediately keeps both of them out of prosecution. A year later, Ann is happily married to Lawrence Reagan, but her wedding anniversary is disrupted when Frank reappears in her life. He turns out to be Lawrence's sister Helen's new crush and isn't about to give up on her.
