The Ledge plot
"One life. One chance. One step."
The agent Hollis discovers that his wife is having an affair and that even his children are not his. Gavin Nichols steps onto a ledge seven floors of a 12-story building and prepares to jump. Distraught Hollis is summoned to rescue the jumper. But this is not a normal suicide attempt. When the two men strike up a conversation, the jumper bit by bit reveals the strange coincidence that brought him to his current position.

If I had read the synopsis, I probably wouldn't have seen this movie. The film is very different from what you would expect. The plot twist takes place after 5 minutes, after which the actual story follows.
It is all a bit unbelievable, firstly because Hollis is immediately told that this is not a normal suicide attempt, but that he is being forced. They don't do anything with that, until it is literally five to twelve ...., the fire brigade also had plenty of time to place an air cushion, or another collection system ... So this is not correct.
You may also wonder who Gavis actually jumps for, isn't it the worst-case scenario for her if new love jumps to her death at the hands of her husband?!
Don't think too deeply about this film, the chemistry in the mutual relationships is good, and that makes the film worthwhile.
The question of whether you're willing to die for something if you don't believe in an afterlife or higher power is a good starting point, but it's executed a bit simple here.

The movie disappointed me a lot. First of all, the plot is released fairly quickly so that little tension remains. The only thing left open is whether he jumps or stays standing.
The film develops more and more into a romantic drama and my attention waned more and more. The acting wasn't anything to write home about either, although I thought Patrick Wilson was the big plus of the film.
From a technical point of view, the film isn't much with a lot of blanks and weird twists and turns. The ending isn't anything to write home about either. Too much has been given up for that.

I thought it was a really good movie. Especially because it's about cheating: something that is now seen as very normal, even commercials on the radio with Second Love and that bullshit, but it is actually still something terrible. You can hurt someone so much with that. While it's so simple: if you want to be with someone else, break up first. Loved this movie and didn't see the end coming. It was surprising and bizarre at the same time.
