Ik Ben Jantje plot

Documentary portrait of a group of friends from the criminal environment of East Amsterdam. The documentary focuses on the three old gabbers Jantje de Sloper, Dikke Bob and Rooie Jos. This threesome was followed by camera for five months. Director Roy Dames was very close to them and turned Ik ben Jantje into a realistic inside story about people who want to get their lives back on track but often fail to do so. The individual interviews provide insight into the ideas and future expectations of the men who frequently had to deal with crime, probation, divorce and unemployment in their lives.
