Cervené Víno I-II plot

Urban Habdza decides to leave the family farm and take over a vineyard in a neighboring village because his father never approved his marriage to Kristína and kept nagging about it. Urban has talent and good ideas about viticulture, but life for the winegrowers is hard and also depends a lot on luck. To help each other and minimize the consequences of bad luck, Urban and some villagers decide to start a cooperative. Several others are not happy with this and are secretly doing everything they can to destroy this initiative. In addition, the First World War breaks out and most men are called up to serve at the front.
