Rien à Déclarer plot
This is the story of two customs officers who learn that their small permanent customs post on the border between Courquain (France) and Koorkin (Belgium) will disappear on January 1, 1993. The Belgian Ruben Vandevoorde, an overzealous customs officer and Francophobe from father to son, is forced to set up the first mixed Franco-Belgian flying brigade. His French partner will be Mathias Ducatel, someone he absolutely cannot get along with, but who, to everyone's surprise, was spontaneously willing to become Vandevoorde's regular partner. Together they will scour the back roads in the border area, looking for drug couriers and other smugglers. However, customs officer Ducatel has had a secret relationship with Louise Vandevoorde, Ruben's sister, for almost a year now. Mathias will therefore spare no effort to make his new customs assignment a success and win the sympathy and esteem of his beloved's brother.
