Sakuradamon-gai no Hen plot

Japan, 1860, the country is buzzing with an anti-foreign and anti-shogunate feeling due to the signing of a new Japanese-American friendship treaty and the succession of Tokugawa Yoshitomi as the fourteenth shogun in 1858. The regent of the Tokugawa Shogunate, Ii Naosuke, acts very idiosyncratic and makes many enemies. Seventeen young masterless samurai from Mito led by Seki Tetsunosuke therefore decide that he should be executed. They're planning an attack.
