The Spider and the Fly plot
"A New British Thriller of Crime, Detection and Suspense!"
Paris, shortly before the outbreak of the First World War. Philippe de Ledocq is a successful safe-cracker who has always outsmarted the police. Dedicated police inspector Fernand Maubert will not rest until he has Philippe behind bars. Both have in common that they are in love with Madeleine Saincaize, who does not have it easy. Just when Fernand can arrest Philippe, Philippe is asked by the government to break into the German embassy. The government wants documents on the whereabouts of German spies in France.
