Adopt a Sailor plot

"He fell out of a plane and into their lives."

A stylish New York couple (Neuwirth and Coyote) "adopt" a sailor during Fleet Weeks, when naval ships call into New York harbor. They invite the sailor (Peck) for a one-time dinner. While eating, they learn a little more about him, but all the more about themselves. In the course of the evening a kind of family bond is formed that will change their lives forever.
