The Father, the Son and the Housekeeper plot

Father Cleary - also known as the singing priest - had his own radio show in the 1970s. He also released two albums of Catholic-inspired music and organized the Pope's visit to Ireland in 1979. Cleary seemed like an exemplary priest, but a year after his death in 1993, it was revealed that he was dating his housekeeper Phyllis Hamilton. and that he was the father of her son Ross. Young filmmaker Alison Millar had followed the priest's life for a year in 1991, then spent a lot of time with Phyllis and Ross, ignorant of the true nature of their relationship with Michael Cleary.
