Jazz saxophonist Izzy sees a corpse in the street with a briefcase next to it. The briefcase contains a handkerchief with a telephone number and a stone. The phone number puts him in touch with the young actress Celia and they become madly in love with each other. The stone, however, brings the young lovers nothing but dull misery...
