The Order plot
"Every soul has its price."
For centuries there has been a secret occult society within the Church. After a number of mysterious deaths, young priest Alex Bernier sets out to investigate. He tracks down the so-called Sin Eater, a dangerous and immortal figure who, like a kind of God on Earth, can forgive the most wicked sinners. The Sin Eater takes on all sins leaving evil unpunished. In his quest, Alex discovers a far worse fate than Death.

A film that turns out to have everything to become a religious thriller, but actually goes too far and is not interesting anywhere. And just when you think it's going to be okay, the movie kills itself. Ledger does his best, but is a victim of the bad script and can't show much. The rest is just a little off-putting. A disappointment.

I don't understand all the bad reactions, because this movie is definitely worth watching.
Great puzzle and a great cast. I just reviewed the movie and it had been a while since I'd seen it and I really hadn't remembered anything about it. The second time I liked it a lot more, maybe that's because the film now works a little bit in reality. Point is, the church has always been supreme and that is what this film brings out in a light form.
The story is nice and quite original, I always find it interesting and fun when a film deals with faith and I had a lot of fun with this film.
Ledger plays decently for a novice, the rest of the cast does a fair to good job.
I say go see this movie despite the bad reactions. The film is a bit of a cross between The Da Vinci Code and Constantine.
After review I give 4 stars
