Mabu plot
A man tries to raise his two sons and two daughters in difficult circumstances. The father manages a horse and carriage that, due to modernization after the devastating Korean War, becomes obsolete due to the rise of the car. The children also experience difficulties. The eldest son fails the law exam twice and is not hopeful that he will succeed a third time. The eldest daughter is deaf and dumb and marries a man who abuses her. The youngest daughter pretends to be a wealthy university student in order to climb the social ladder and the youngest son is guilty of theft.
