"The true story of a multi-billion dollar art heist and how they got away with it."
In the 1950s, Albert Barnes started his Barnes Foundation in Philadelphia, which enabled him to purchase art and build his own collection. His aim was not only to be able to exhibit the art, but also to fulfill an educational function, as well as to allow the common man to enjoy the art. While all the major art institutions looked down on him, he expanded his collection to a value of 15 billion dollars. The city of Philadelphia and all sorts of more and less reliable institutions have attempted to steal the art from Barnes.
