Soundtrack for a Revolution plot

"It was good turmoil. It was necessary turmoil." In the 1960s, Congressman John Lewis was one of the champions of the American Civil Rights Movement that fought peacefully to end apartheid. Inextricably linked to that struggle was black music, the songs that were passed on from generation to generation. Music wasn't just music, it was an oral account of black history. With interviews, historical clips and new performances of freedom songs, "Soundtrack for a Revolution" demonstrates the importance of that music to the Civil Rights movement as well as to the tens of thousands who traveled from all over the United States to help protest. It was the music that brought solidarity, according to one of the witnesses in the film.
