"The Legends of Horror have returned!"
During World War II, Andre Toulon, who is constantly being chased by the Nazis, commits suicide at the Bodega Bay Inn Hotel. Young Danny Coogan finds Toulon's large suitcase containing several living dolls. When Danny discovers a horrifying Nazi secret and his family and girlfriend are threatened, Danny decides to take revenge with Blade, Pinhead, Jester and the rest of Toulon's deadly dolls.

Axis of Evil, it should be the big return for Andre Toulon's puppets. And that was not an unnecessary luxury, given the sewage that the series has been filled with since the fifth part. We got laughable prequels, films with mainly archive material and pretty worthless spinoffs with the Demonic Toys. Time to go back to basics, the makers of this tenth Puppet Master must have thought. Can we also say that the Puppet Master series with Axis of Evil has finally returned to the level of the previous films?
No. Axis of Evil also turns out to be very weak and remains far away from the better parts of the series. The film, after some archive footage from the first film, switches to Danny Coogan. Danny and his constant complaining that he can't fight the Germans. His big brother will be fine. And his girlfriend flirts with a boy at work. Sigh. Why do people still think that the viewer is interested in such a set of dishcloths? But even when Toulon's puppets appear briefly on the scene, it remains eerily quiet. It turns out that even in 2010 they cannot imitate the effects of the first films, the puppets barely move and therefore do very little. As a result, as a viewer we get to watch ridiculous stereotypes, major plot holes and cringe-worthy conversations for an hour and a half. There goes your chance for a decent comeback.

This ninth part, which should be the return of Puppet Master, is also in line with previous parts. This means amateurism at its finest. Those two guys who pass for Germans are very sad and the location where the bad guys are hiding is also sad. Unbelievable that the very cool dolls from Toulon get such a treatment.

Very boring continuation from director David DeCoteau, who has previously been responsible for parts of the series. Axis of Evil takes the story back to the past and manages to write all kinds of drunken ideas (the way the Japanese are portrayed here is completely ridiculous) in a single story. If the event did not take itself seriously, that was still understandable. The problem is that a fairly serious story is being written, which means that a lot of absurd things don't catch on. In addition, the acting is particularly poor and the puppets barely come into action, making the relatively short playing time quite a challenge.
