The documentary paints a portrait of the greatest icon of modern Brazilian architecture, a portrait that cannot be separated from the changes that the country has undergone over the past century. The makers followed Niemeyer for ten years. The duration of the trajectory enabled them to build a strong bond with the architect and to look at their subject with the necessary objectivity. In the film - who has now passed the hundred - Niemeyer talks informally about his most important projects. He shows how he revolutionized modern architecture by introducing the wavy line and exploring the possibilities of reinforced concrete. He also talks about his life, about his ideal of a more just society and about the insignificance of man in the face of the infinity of the universe. Niemeyer's buildings can be seen throughout Brazil, as well as in France, Italy and the United States.
