"Paris Opera Documentary"

A portrait of the famous ballet of the Paris Opera. From the fish in the deepest cellar vaults to the bees on the high roof, Wiseman meticulously maps all layers within the stately opera house. From the cleaners to the director, who rules like an enlightened despot over her always training dancers, whom she describes as 'half nun, half boxer'. In addition to a performance of The Nutcracker, the retirement age of forty for dancers and the sale of a gala travel package from five thousand dollars per person are on her agenda. Wiseman focuses on the training stars, the premier dancers and the corps de ballet, from rehearsal room to theater floor.
