“I'm tired of this. From now on I'm Switzerland, OK?”
Mediocre. In this third part, the relationship between romantic posturing and action is completely gone, and Eclipse is actually a very expensive and very long GTST episode. With this acting. It's a battle for the heart of Stewart for an hour and a half, who walks around like she's spent nights filming. Lautner, of course, has to take off his shirt so that his acting isn't overdone, and Pattinson sleepwalks through the film. Just when you think the fight is finally starting, it's already over, and we continue with yearning, longing glances and abominable dialogues. And then, according to the experts, this is still the best book..

Thin.
After part 2 had an upward trend, and here is a director at the helm of whom I want to see many more projects, I still had hope for a second upward trend, but as far as I'm concerned Twilight is back to square one. The focus on threat and action a little less, more on romance.
However, Slade still manages to save it visually, but it seems that he doesn't seem to know what to do with the story at all. Weitz may have been a slightly better director for the Twilight films, but Slade manages to do a lot better visually at times. Especially in terms of atmosphere.
But the acting has gone downhill. Nearly everyone. Side characters like Burke have almost nothing to say now, and the focus on the main characters doesn't captivate. Stewart seems to have little interest in it anymore, and both Pattinson and Lautner are now falling short on romance. They managed to cope better in previous parts.
But the acting is now really dramatic for almost everyone. Relatively respected names really make fun of themselves. Samuel, Fanning, Howard, Green etc etc. They all don't do much of it. They all play exaggerated and lifeless. They don't seem to care anymore.
Action is also a bit tame. Certainly the final phase is really clumsy. For example, Samuel being attacked by the wolf. What amateurism. And that from a director like Slade. Totally not expected. Story itself barely manages to gain any power unfortunately.
And it's still that romance that's just awful. It never feels real, and it's extremely dull and stuffy. And now it is also quite central. Other genres are lost in this part, and that's why this part is not a success at all. It's nice that the actors and actresses are fighting off this status.
Mediocre movie. Didn't catch me at all. Visually still nice and atmospheric at times, and that was it again.

At the end of The Twilight Saga: New Moon , Edward proposed to Bella [Kristen Stewart], but she only wants to get married if Edward [Robert Pattinson] "changes" her. Bella's father [Billy Burke] wants her to cut all contact with Edward completely and tries to persuade her to have more contact with Jacob [Taylor Lautner]. He initially ignores Bella's contact requests. Meanwhile, Seattle is rocked by a series of brutal murders led by Riley [Xavier Samuel], who wants to create an army of vampires and also has his sights on Bella's "blood." Only cooperation between the vampires and wolves can save Bella, but that alliance is fragile. A lot of testosterone that teenage girls might enjoy, but it remains a clumsy metaphor for teenage sexuality that regularly makes your toes curl. And not with pleasure! Sequel: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.
