Laskar Pelangi plot

On the island of Belitong, a rural Muslim school is closed because it cannot meet the minimum enrollment of ten students. But miraculously, ten poor boys show up on the first day of school and the doors stay open. These little guys range from the very shabby Lintang to the musically gifted Mahar. Their teachers, Bu Muslimah and Pak Harfan enthusiastically engage with them, and the film then follows these students through their lives as they go through one unexpected event after another.
