Karl Geschwandtner, porter in a large hotel, has only one wish: one day to be the leader of the giant hotel. His wish comes true during one evening. But Karl doesn't just want to be in charge of the hotel, he also wants to be able to interfere in the guests' lives. They are couples who really don't want to be separated and put in another place. When precious jewels disappear, he plays detective.
