Erik Kessels combines many disciplines and is inspired by everything. He is co-founder of the idiosyncratic advertising agency KesselsKramer, as well as a graphic designer, curator and passionate photo collector. How do you determine what is important in the endless stream of images that comes at you? Kessels edits, combines and reveals stories that remain hidden from others. In his commercials he wants to stimulate people, instead of presenting them with a make-believe world. For Kessels it is very important to keep looking and to question what you see. "Watching is different from consuming," says Kessels. "People let images slide by - they don't look anymore." In this film by Simone de Vries we see Erik Kessels at work in all his disciplines: we look through his eyes, so that he shows us new perspectives in everyday images.
