After the wanted Gar Davis escapes a posse led by the Largo sheriff, he saves Celia Gray and her young son Chad from an attack by the Comanches. Davis then escorts them both to Fort Dobbs, assuming they are safe there. Things get complicated for Davis when Celia suspects her rescuer was responsible for her husband's recent death and he meets the corrupt arms dealer Clett.
