Mediocre film in which a man takes his family on holiday to the sea. A story of nothing and the film itself is rather fragmentary. Fortunately, it doesn't take too long and it is certainly entertaining here and there. John Candy is well cast in this brash 80s comedy.

Small but nice holiday film with the typical John Candy humour. As often in his comedies, here he plays the mediocre citizen, symbol of American consumerism, which is also often mocked in his films (the chic restaurants, the sunbather culture, plastic surgery...). It was clear that every situation would degenerate into a fiasco and that he would participate in the yacht race . I thought it was all doable, although I wouldn't watch a Candy comedy every week, even every month.
