"A musician travels a great distance to return an instrument to his elderly teacher."
Ignacio Carrillo is a Colombian singer from Majagual, Sucre, who decides to stop singing after the unexpected death of his wife. He hands his accordion, which appeared to be cursed, to his master. He is assisted during this period by Fermín Morales, a young teenager who appreciates his work, and also wants to become a ''juglar'', just like Ignacio himself. Ignacio reluctantly accepts his proposal to travel with him. For example, Ignacio, Fermin and their donkey set off on a journey to a number of cities in the Caribbean region, in Northern Colombia. During their journey, Ignacio takes part in the Vallenato Legend Festival in Valledupar.

Due to the death of his wife, Carillo decides to put an end to his glorious career as an accordion player and decides to hang up his instrument. He undertakes a journey to return the musical instrument to its spiritual father.
The film then presents itself as a kind of road movie on a donkey through the Colombian plains. He, chased by a young fan who wants to learn the master's work and earn his own living.
