Brought this on good luck and it was not too bad. A beautiful story that was captivating. The acting was also excellent and convincing. I didn't think it was all too romantic and therefore still doable.

Other than that, the movie looked great.

I certainly didn't complain and thought it was a great movie.

“Two weeks together, that's all it took, two weeks for me to fall in love with you.”

Richard Jenkins almost single-handedly ensures that Dear John remains more than worthy of attention. You can draw films and books by Sparks, and Dear John also has all the familiar elements. The biggest problem is that Tatum and Seyfried don't come out very well, and there is no chemistry between the two. The plot developments are a bit far fetched even for a Sparks movie, and it even gets laughable at some point (something about getting married because someone has cancer and selling coins). Tatum and Seyfried are good on their own, and Jenkins makes everything he's in better.
