Based on a true story.
It's almost too bizarre to put into words that con artist Philippe Miller has gotten this far. Cluzet is strong in his role, clearly demonstrating that such practices are indeed possible. Gérard Depardieu plays a smaller role.
A film that almost didn't happen because the crew was abandoned by a construction company. Thanks in part to the help of another construction company, it was possible to build a long road where filming could take place.
Good enough for 3 film awards and 13 nominations.

The character wasn't just a con man but also a thief. Cluzet, as Philippe Miller, eventually came to the conclusion that everything was fake. We've been confronted with a lot of fake news lately, so truth and lies are so closely intertwined. The moral of the story is this: no matter how fast a lie travels, the truth will catch up with it.
