Very nice movie. I had a great time.

It was nice that it only lasted an hour, so it couldn't be long-winded. Good scares, and lots of creepy apparitions. The story is indeed vague at first, but becomes clear later. I thought it was very well acted for a Japanese horror. Unfortunately the story wasn't very innovative, nothing at all actually. I did enjoy the film from a director other than Shimizu. The virtually unknown Miyake has put together a nice little horror.

ps: I just didn't understand where Kayako was suddenly, but Toshio was there. But Toshio had nothing to do with the story, did he?

Better than Girl in Black.

Maybe it's also because many Japanese elderly people look scary without makeup, let alone in ghost form. Convincingly acted and a fascinating story in which all the puzzle pieces fall together at the end. The murders were also quite crude, such as the fire in the bathtub or the sawing of the girl. The nice thing is that if the film only lasts an hour, the scare density is high. Something happens every minute so that the film does not become boring. I'm looking forward to the next part, hopefully about an hour.

I was actually a bit tired of The Grudge, mainly because of all the American bad products that I had the pleasure of seeing But as soon as I think about the original I start to feel like watching it again, so I decided to sit down for an hour for this part.

Very nice work, nothing special, just very entertaining and typical of ''the grudge'', a good threatening atmosphere that is quite consistent and the division into chapters works well and they all contribute something to the story that could easily be told in 60 minutes. Better than a full length!

The charm of ''the grudge'' films is back again now that they come from the country where they should come from. 3.5* and now ''Girl in black''
