Horse sense must find a solution when Judy, the beautiful young manager of a sanitarium, finds herself in the clutches of a moneylender. To raise the funds to pay off a mortgage, the girl calls on the eccentric doctor Hackenbush, who must ensure that the wealthy Mrs. Upjohn stays in the sanatorium as long as possible. The rest of the medical staff has their doubts, especially when it turns out that Dr. Hackenbush is actually a veterinarian. Meanwhile, the manageress's fiancée has bought a racehorse in the hopes of amassing enough money to pay off the debt. And now horse doctor Hackenbush suddenly appears to be the right man in the right place.
