Tumbleweeds plot
In 1889 the so-called Cherokee Land Strip, between Kansas and Oklahoma, is opened to the pioneers. A veritable tidal wave of people follows; they all want to own a piece of land. To give everyone a fair chance, everyone has to wait for the go-ahead and then try to be the first to claim a piece of land for themselves. After cowboy Dan Carver helps drive Box K cattle off the land, he meets Molly Lassiter. He is attracted to her and decides to join the race and claim a piece of land for her. He returns to search for more drifted cattle, but is then arrested for being on the forgivable land before the go-ahead is given. It is impossible for him to participate in the race now.
