Defying Gravity plot

"Sometimes you have to embrace death in order to embrace life."

Cassandra, a runaway girl, takes refuge in the cemetery where her mother is buried. She is watched by Jorge, the cemetery caretaker, an illegal alien who works to restore a classic Cadillac 60 hearse. Shore is a dynamic, handsome and brilliant young man who also happens to be homeless. After nearly running over Kassandra in his Volkswagen van, he becomes fascinated by the Gothic cemetery and makes frantic efforts to befriend Kassandra. Jorge and Shore leave the cemetery in a stolen hearse to find Cassandra before her abusive stepfather does.
