Bram Fischer plot
In 1963 South Africa, where discontent against inequality is growing, one afternoon in the village of Rivonia, the leaders of the ANC are arrested during a raid. To this group is added a ninth member, who had been captured before: Nelson Mandela. The white regime is very keen to set the group as an example and to have it sentenced to the death penalty. Respected lawyer Bram Fischer takes on their defense. What the regime does not know is that Fischer should have been the tenth suspect. That is the start of a process in which Bram Fischer treads difficult paths. When the secret police gradually discover Bram Fischer's dual role, he is faced with a moral dilemma: does he prefer the defense of his clients over his own safety and that of his family?
