Wealthy investor Ben Sievert is furious when he hears from his best friend Gerry Weihrauch that he is going to do business with the shady Max Camend. That same night Gerry is beaten to death. Ben tells the police that he found Gerry and that he fought the killer. But Detective Breker also suspects Ben of the murder.
