Oyster Farmer plot

A love story about a young man, Jack Flange, who leaves town to find work with oyster farmers in the Hawkesbury River area. Jack encounters a small-town mentality, with its advantages and its disadvantages. A burglary has just taken place and money has been stolen. Jack falls in love with an ex-chamber maid. Meanwhile, he is also worried about his sister, who is ill. His new environment is a minefield for a boy from the city. Is he here a passer-by or a stayer?
