Between Two Worlds plot
"They lived in the Shadow of Death!"
During World War II, the Austrian refugee couple Henry and Ann Bergner from London hope to escape bombing by the Nazis. They are on their way to a ship to leave Europe, but an explosion throws both of them out of their car and many bystanders are killed. Despondent and unable to reach the ship, the couple returns to their apartment and decide to kill themselves by gassing. When Ann and Henry awaken, they find themselves on a ship shrouded in fog and carrying many passengers, including the reporter and know-it-all Tom Prior, who also witnessed the earlier bombing. Henry and Ann discover that the ship is actually Limbo, a temporary way station between Hell and Heaven. One Tim Thompson will determine their final destiny for eternity.

qualitatively an excellent life after death fantasy story with a fairly serious drama tone approach, (no light comedy here but bitter fun)
